The Compliance department in Lateral Solutions have been active since 2011 to develop Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) according to requirements set out by our Customers, Local Authorities and International Standards. We have developed task forces to prepare and facilitate Supplier Responsibility audits at our manufacturing sites. We liaise with international clients and 3rd party auditors to resolve critical findings within the stipulated closure timeline. We also actively engage local authorities and customers on environmental, health and safetymatters whenever changes are initiated at our facilities.

Our EHS Policy
Lateral Solutions is committed to provide a healthy and safe work environment wherever we operate. We observe environmentally sound business practices because we recognize that doing so would conserve resources and ensure a cleaner world for the benefit of future generations.

Guiding Principles
We will continuously strive to improve our Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Management System to meet or exceed all applicable government laws, regulations and customer standards.    
We will manage and operate our facilities to maximize safety, promote energy efficiency and protect our environment.
We will ensure that all employees are aware of their roles and responsibilities with respect to our EHS Management System and we will respond quickly and diligently to any reported safety or environmental concern raised by our employees or stakeholders.
We will advocate to our subsidiaries, contractors and vendors, the adoption of the same comprehensive approach to EHS we have taken.

Labor & Human Rights

We work towards compliance to local manpower laws and customer SR requirements to be strict on limiting the working hours, ensuring rest days, fair overtime salary and meeting minimum wages.
We have stringent age verification processes in place to prevent the hiring of child workers and strictly adhere to local regulations on the hiring and treatment of juvenile workers.

Emergency Contingencies

For natural disasters like fires, typhoons, earthquakes and man-made situations such as chemical spills, liquid gas leakages, bomb threats, infectious diseases or medical emergencies, we devise emergency plans and through regular trainings we improve the capabilities of the emergency response team and hazard awareness of our staffs.

Business Continuity Plan

Business can be recovered quickly with offsite data backup for office employees and alternate manufacturing sites for production activities.

Green Product

One of the qualities that define a Green product is being free of ozone depleting chemicals, toxic compounds and by-products.

Conflict-Free Sourcing Initiative (cfsi)

Conflict Minerals refers to raw materials that come from a particular part of the world where conflict is occurring and affects the mining and trading of those materials. The most prominent raw materials: Tin, Tungsten, Tantalum and Gold (3TG) are under the scope for irresponsible mining by armed groups, especially in the Democratic Republic of Congo(DRC).

We follow CFSI’s guidelines to trace the smelters and refiners from our suppliers to ensure that we use conflict-free minerals.
